Anger Management


We are seeing the early stages of adolescence roar to life here in our house.  Mood swings, power struggles and a general funk that is new and just as tough as the potty training drama of years past.  Though it has seemed hard to manage, we have taken time in the many moments that are quiet and peaceful to talk through some strategies with our pre-teen.  We’ve stressed the importance of understanding that being angry is all about managing or re-directing the anger, and not suppressing it all together.  What works here when things get heated are:  Snacks, reading, listening to music, going for a run, drawing, writing in a journal, cuddling.  What works for YOU?
