Roses and Thorns

I admit that we stole this idea from the President and First Lady, but I am pretty sure they’d be good with that.  Dinner time.  Our house.  Everyone has to come up with their bests and worsts for the day.  The kids usually have something like, “We’re eating chicken nuggets for dinner” as their rose.  Or that they climbed to the top of the jungle gym.  Worsts can range from a splinter, to a flat tire on a bike, to something they cannot even repeat and just call…”That thing…you know, Mom…that thing.”  Many days we have no thorns among us, and yes, there are days with no roses for at least one of us.  Cause life is rosy and thorny, isn’t it?
